Description: Vintage 1990's Original Floral Still Life by Lali Lomtadze (1955 - ) Untitled Mixed Media (transparent and opaque water color, oil pastel, colored etching, embossing) Tbilisi, Georgia VTG 1990s Dimensions: Frame = 25 x 27.5 inches Mat Opening = 16.5 x 19.25 inches Condition: The painting is bright and colorful with no signs of fading or discoloration. The frame is sturdy and shows only very minor signs of age and wear including minor surface scuffs and scratches. The glass is clean inside and out. The paper seal has been mended. New hanging hardware has been installed. Please see photos and feel free to contact us with any questions. Lali Lomtadze works in easel painting and graphics. She creates book illustrations and ex-libris, and works in the field of film / TV design. From 1975 to 1979, she studied at the Film/TV Faculty of the Department of Fine Arts of the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. She has been a member of the Union of Georgian Artists since 1981. The artist has taken part in over 150 shows in Georgia and abroad, including solo exhibitions and a number of republican and international exhibitions: Tbilisi (1996, 1998, 2000), Moscow (1980, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1988, 2001, 2003), Poland (1985, 1987), and Hungary (1990). She is the art director of the films “Kvelatsminda” (All Saints) (1977) and “Gaseirneba” (Promenade) (1979). The works of Lali Lomtadze cover a wide range of subjects. She creates highly artistic works with colored etching and mixed media. The artist has made a significant contribution to the development of contemporary Georgian ex-libris art. She won the Artists’ Union Prize at the Exlibris Republican Competition in Baku in 1987; first prize at the Ex-libris Competition in Georgia in 1988; and a prize at the “Artist Paints Paris” competition in Paris in 2005. At the same time, she is preoccupied with academic activities. Lali Lomtatidze has been a lecturer at Tbilisi State University since 1984. She taught at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts from 1986 to 2007. Lali Lomtadze’s works are kept in the Shalva Amiranashvili State Museum of Art, as well as private collections in Georgia, the United States, Russia, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Japan, and Turkey.
