Typical of many U.S. military officers, as their career progressed, they simply updated or modified their initial uniform to adhere to the new regs or rank. Few would purchase a new uniform with every rank advancement. Uniforms were then and still today, are expensive. Came out of a large lot of vintage military clothing I got in several weeks ago.
