Pair Kevin Neal Ryland 2009 Painting Haida Northwest Coast Canada Eagle Raven

Description: This listing is for the two Kevin Neal Ryland paintings that you see in the photos. They are not the same but I believe that they make a good pair. I purchased them at an estate sale in Oregon where was not told their history. I have looked at them under strong magnification and they do not look like any printing process that I know of. I have not seen any sign that they are serigraphs or some kind of lithograph. I think that there would probably be some kind of limitation if they were prints. I do see signs that they were painted. I have provided close-ups to show what I am looking at. leave it to the buyer to decide if they are prints or paintings. I believe that some kind of opaque watercolor or gouache was used to paint them. The colors look more substantial than ink or transparent watercolor. In some areas, the paint is textured and appears to have a little depth. The mats measure close to 10 ½ by 19 ¼ inches. The area of paper exposed by the mats measures close to 4 3/8 by 19 ¼ inches.One is signed with pencil, “June 2009 Eagle (c) Kevin Neal Ryland”. The other is signed with pencil, “May 2009 Raven (c) Kevin Neal Ryland”.Some research tells me that Kevin Neal Ryland was born in Masset, Queen Charlotte Islands in 1968 and that he is a Haida artist of Haida Gwaii on Vancouver Island. One source tells me that he takes the Raven as his family crest. I leave it to the buyer to decide how accurate my information is. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. I have not examined the paintings out of the shrink wrap so in that respect they are being sold “as is” and as described. The paintings look fine with no damage. Some of the shrink wrap is not lying perfectly flat. I believe that they were made that way. A photo shows one long white line on one of the mats. One small area of the shrink wrap has a little damage that makes it less transparent. Elsewhere, I found one tiny hole in the shrink wrap and two tiny dark spots on the shrink wrap that are not showing in the photos. Otherwise, they are in excellent condition with no damage.I guarantee these paintings to be as described and represented by the photos. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure. I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied. I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation.

I frequently purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often but not always ship the same or the next day. Often, I have a double wall box custom made for larger items and that might result in a short delay.
