Description: RARE! 1890-92 Charley Bassett, New York Giants, Original Cabinet Photograph by J. U. Stead, New York. Measures 4 1/8" x 6.5". Mount is original and the edges are gold gilded. Photo is crystal clear and there is some light staining on the mount. It appears there is an ink pen outline at the top of Bassett's cap. Reverse has a J.U. Stead stamp and there is pencil writing identifying G.S. (George Stacey) Davis but it is 100% sure that it is Charley Bassett. Bassett played from 1884 to 1892 with the Providence Grays, Kansas City Cowboys, Indianapolis Hoosiers, New York Giants and Louisville Colonels
