Description: Here we have a Very Rare Antique Ex Voto. This is Authentic, NOT a reproduction. Purchased in France. An exceptional piece, it is embellished with clear glass stones. All of the stones are in place with none missing. It dates from the late nineteenth century. The front of the heart opens up like a locket, designed to hold a written prayer. There is a ring on the back which you can attach a ribbon or a chain. This would look stunning as a necklace. This ex voto is a very unusual due to its large size. It is almost 4 3/4 inches tall at the tallest point and 2 1/4 inches wide at the widest point.. Some expected age discoloration. Very fancy backing. Please note: The black mass seen in the picture is my employee's shirt. Ex Votos were placed in a church or chapel where the worshipper seeks grace or wishes to give thanks.
