Description: Description taken from a Worthpoint Auction listing which sold** This is a wonderful set of Nixon and Agnew puppets offered as a limited edition by the National Lampoon magazine after their October 1970 cover ( please see photo #6 - cover not included ) with Abbie Hoffman and the original puppets which inspired this set. They were designed by famous cartoonist Rick Meyerowitz. The story behind these puppets is quite interesting - even Andy Warhol owned a pair ( they're in his museum ). You can find the full account on Mr. Meyerowitz's website(See Below): They are large with each puppet's head approximately 4 5/8" in height (entire puppet is 14 inches long), and they are in very good one-owner condition. The heads are molded latex rubber and the bodies are cloth, hand cut with machine-stitched "suits" and hand-stitched hands. Note: They both have the words "Western Germany" molded into the back of each neck, near the bottom edge (covered by clothing). On a side note , these puppets were given to my father from a Freelance Photographer who did print work for National Lampoon Magazine back in the 70's **https://www.rickmeyerowitz.com/national-lampoon/nixon-agnew-puppets/
