Description: Up for sale is a solid bronze sculpture signed "Aug Moreau", mounted on a large green-black marble base. The artist's full name was Louis Auguste Moreau (1855-1919), whose family was quite renowned in France, with Moreau exhibiting his work at the Paris Salon from 1861 on, until he passed in 1919. This figure is the reproduction from an original "Sisters" molds. The piece is beautifully crafted with a very high degree of fineness in the Sister's features, the bouquet, and their dresses. This is a depiction of a slightly older sister holding a basket of flowers; with her younger sister hold a small bouquet of freshly picked flowers. This bronze is in excellent condition with a brilliant sheen, showing only very minor signs of age or wear. The bronze itself measures roughly 31" tall and a 11" diameter green-black marble base, with the sculpture having an overall weight of just over 64 lbs. Condition: I have described this bronze sculpture as best I can, but to augment my description I have provided several high-resolution images from varying angles, to allow for a detailed review of quality, condition, and desirability. This will be professionally boxed ( statue weighs about 70 pounds) and will need a crate or special heavy box. There will be insurance and signature confirmation.
