Description: Republic of China Chinese Coin Brass 20 Cash no date - 1920's?, 1-1/4" inches diameter. A friendly viewer wrote to give me some detailed info on the coin:Here is their info:(there are multiple varieties of this coin). It is variety 2 of Y-400.2, according to "The Hunan Twenty Cash Commentary" at pages 23-24 (book is available on Amazon at less than $20). On the obverse, the chrysanthemum above the flags is oval and has a center dot (other varieties lack that dot, have a diamond-shaped chrysanthemum, or have a smaller flower or star); on the reverse, the bottom ribbon has 11 loop-lines (other varieties have 9, 12, 15, 18, or 24) and the round ribbon loops at the left and right are not complete circles (other varieties have complete circles). The five varieties of Y-400.2 are described in detail, with close-up photos, on pages 23-25. Although the Standard Catalog dates it as 1919, the above-noted book explains why 1919 to 1925 is more accurate.
