Description: 8.5 x 11 inch print of the RMS Titanic at Cherbourg, France. Having left Southampton on April 10th, 1912 under the orders of Captain Edward John Smith, the Titanic arrived in Cherbourg late afternoon, more than an hour and a half late due to an incident with the liner New York at Southampton. The two tenders, Nomadic and Traffic, began conveying the 281 passengers on land out to the legendary liner which was moored out in Cherbourg's harbor, the biggest artificial harbor in the world. Among the passengers boarding at Cherbourg, were Colonel John Jacob Astor and his wife Madeline Talmadge Force Astor. This lovely and romantic print was often mistaken as a photograph and was used by many newspapers as one of the only images of Titanic at Cherbourg at night. It is actually a Giclee print. Your copy is printed on 65 lb, acid free, archival card stock. (Obviously there will be no watermark and the button is not included.) I will package your print very carefully and ship it via USPS ground.
