Description: Ours is a rare Rum Rill find; as a matter of fact, I cannot find another vase like this one! Our vase is incised 536 Rum Rill on the bottom in irregular letters. I believe the color would be considered seafoam green or light green in a matte finish. The vase stands tall, 9", with a diameter opening of 6". It has no chips, cracks or flea bites. The bottom has three white spots where I believe the paint just skipped in the firing process. It has two small handles on both sides of the vase, looking like an upside down fleur-de-lis. My research indicates that Rum Rill in two words, with the secondR being capitalized and with the letters being irregular, is indicative of an older vase, likely from the 1930s. In 1931 Red Wing Pottery shifted to making art pottery, much of which consisted of vases, designed by the legendary designer, George Rumrill. George Rumrill was an extraordinary designer and salesman. He died in 1943. This is a lovely art pottery vase that would fit beautifully in any decor! Thank you for looking.
