Description: Stanley Bailey No. 5 -Type 19 -Jack Plane with a smooth soul 14" long by 2 1/2" wide, it has no dates, but was likely manufactured between 1941 and 1948, the plane iron is 2" wide by 7 1/2" long, she weighs 4 pounds and 6 ounces before packaging, Bailey is casted at the toe, she has a kidney bean cap spring opening, her front knob and tote are both made from rosewood and in pretty darn good condition, brass adjustment knob is 1 1/4" across, she has a scar on her left cheek and her chip breaker, nothing that impairs her function, I'm selling a few personal planes from my woodshop, these are working planes which I recondition and hone if needed, though my planes are antiques they're highly functional, if you're looking for a rusty old plane to set on a shelf my planes might not be what you're looking for and that's okay, these girls of mine are clean as a whistle and sharp as a razor, I put a fresh primary bevel and a dangerously sharp secondary bevel on her plane iron and yes you can shave with it though I wouldn't recommend it, Until we meet again let the chips fall where they may, thank you kindly for looking and Happy Trails to You and Yours :)
