A gold vendor's label reads, "The Pottery Place, Muncie, IN."The artist is Rob Grimes of San Antonio, Texas, American SouthwestDate unknown, possibly 1990s vintageThe body is a thick-walled, white clay (porcelain?) pottery with deep, visual and tactile turning rings, a generous spout, a textured handle, and a small unglazed foot.The glaze is Grimes' spectacular "Mediterranean Sunset" which is a deep matte green, ocher speckled matte ivory, and a rich, deep, glossy red or maroon. Colors are richer and warmer than photos can show. Photos can't do justice to these beautiful colors.Holds 2 1/2 quarts and measures 4 3/4" high, 11" wide spout to handle, has a 10" diameter opening and a 4 1/2" diameter base.Weighs about 3 1/2" pounds before packaging.Very good condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. There are some utensil marks visible in the ivory section and some shelf wear to the unglazed bottom.
