Stunning William Moorcroft Leaf & Berry FLAMBE 15" Art Pottery Lamp , c. 1930's

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a stunning William Moorcroft Leaf & Berry Art Pottery lamp in the rich FLAMBE coloration, c. 1930's. The lamp has a waisted cylindrical form with wide, ornately decorated layered brass platform base and decorative embossed brass collar. The colors used in painting the leaves are in shades of burgundy, salmon, green and gold with amazing depth of color found in items having the flambe glaze. The background color of the lamp is a rich burgundy at the shoulder and deep cobalt blue from the center to the lower body. The lamp is most probably signed, however, it was factory drilled and assembled at the Moorcroft factory and we have elected not to take it apart. The wiring appears to be original although it is in perfect unworn condition with no concern for using it as it is. The lamp currently has a tall harp which was popular on lamps during this period although the harp can easily be exchanged with a shorted one if you desire a less tall lamp or a shorter shade. Pottery lamp base measures 11" high and 6" in diameter. The base measures 3 1/4" high and 9 1/2" wide (flat corner to corner) and the lamp has an overall height of 29 1/2" high. The top stem including harp measures 14" high with the harp alone measuring 11 3/4" high. This nice lamp is in excellent Estate condition with the only noted issue being two small, faint scratches on one side (see photos) and minor tarnishing to the brass base from normal aging and wear.
