Description: Surgeon's medical toolbox, later 19th century, the tools made by Feick Brothers of Pittsburg, a total of fifteen, in a bespoke mahogany fitted box with two sliding catches. Dimensions: 3"h x 11-1/4"w x 5"d. The lid includes a brass oval which has never been inscribed. The tools include seven instruments with metal handles consisting of blades and picks, two more blades with wood handles, a metal hook with an ebonized wood handle with incised eight-point star, a bone hand drill, a brass razor blade holder, sliding metal tongs and a tourniquet metal chain. The tourniquet has desiccated and broken into three pieces.
