Description: HTappan Chefs Salt And Pepper Shaker Set Made in Japan w/ Stoppers Vintage 1950’sTappan stoves began in 1881 manufacturing cast iron stoves door to door. They continued making modern day stoves until when they closed in 1992. The company developed this little character in the 1930's to represent the company and the employees gave him the nickname of Tappy These little guys are from the 1950s, originally advertising for Tappan appliances and the public called him Little Chef or Tappan Chef. They are approximately a little bit over 4" tall and just over 2" wide and are in great vintage condition. The company gave everyone that purchased an appliance a set of salt and pepper shakers.
