Description: The thing about Three and The Moon is the unique collection of modern, highly stylistic art by the renowned Boris Artzybasheff, decades before he became world-famous for his Time Magazine covers and anthropomorphic ads. They are a blast of primary colors throughout the book, and there are smaller black works for chapters and so on. Stunning to come across, they are full page or even two page spreads, as in-your-face as any color artwork could possibly be in a mere book. Supposedly for children, these drawings are suitable for framing. It was extremely rare to have full color plates within the pages of a book a hundred years ago. If color was used at all, it was on the dustjacket or pages added together in a section. It was difficult, and very expensive to pull off. This rare book does it beautifully. Not bad for 1929. As you can see in the image of the cover (image 2), the dustjacket and the book are protected by a clear mylar cover, fully removable in about a second if needs be. I shot it so that the light would reflect off of it, and you could see the protective cover. In a room, it is perfectly clear. The book is in terrific condition. It has been on my top shelf, out of reach of the sun, for about 50 years now. It is time someone else enjoyed it. Perfect for a collector of modern art, children's books, fairy tales, legends, historical sagas, and Artzybasheff. No returns (this is not a store). 100% satisfaction over 25 years on ebay.
