Oscar and his brother Edgar Gutherz from Austria besides their own porcelain factory also supplied and worked for the brand and factory in Limoges, France. These plates are from the Aesthetic Movement of the late 1800’s. Beauty without a social conscience best describes this period of art; Art for arts’ sake.
