Unique Vintage Red Wing RumRill Art Pottery Arts & Crafts Elephant Handle Vase

Description: Featured in this auction is a unique pottery vase made by Red Wing Art Pottery on behalf of RumRill Art Pottery. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, very light crazing and no repairs. There are, however, a number of tiny glaze pops and pinholes all over the piece. There are also some glaze drips, skips and rubs both inside and out. This heavy vase stands 6-1/4" tall, 6-1/4" wide at the bulbous body, and 3" wide at the mouth. The base of the pottery is unmarked but is known to be a Red Wing Art Pottery form, shape number 215, that Red Wing produced on behalf of RumRill Art Pottery in the late 1920s and 1930s. The vase features a round, bulbous shape with two distinctive elephant-head handles. The glazes are matte pink and green colors with the interior also lined with pink. Stilt marks are visible on the base along with a tiny glaze fleabite just at the base rim edge. It also appears that the glazes were "touched up" prior to firing which most likely caused the skips and rubs. The vase is presumed to have been gently used but is relatively clean both inside and out. Check out all 12 photos! This gorgeous vase would look amazing in your favorite display cabinet.
