This little pen can be carried in any pocket or purse and the writing is great" I purchased this pen about 10 years ago. It had just been restored when I purchased. It has been stored in my collection since. I recently inked up the pen to test it for this ebay listing. The lever fill mechanism works very well and the nib writes smooth with a moderate amount of flex. I would call the line width to be "soft medium". Please study the writing example in the photos so you will understand how this nib performs. As the Dinkie is a small pen, most users find it more comfortable to write with the cap 'posted' on the end of the barrel. I used Sailor Yamadori ink on Tomoe River 58g paper for the writing example. I left the pen filled for about a week and did not see any leaks or nib creep. Finally, I cleaned the pen well and then used pen flush so it will be good to go when it reaches its new home. The Conway Stewart Dinkie fountain pen was made, in a bewildering variety of styles and finishes, from the early 1920s up until 1972. This pen, the "Dinkie 550" is a 1950s version. The color is described as "pearl green marble" which I think describes it pretty well. The marbling is a combination of pale pearl green to deep green with flecks and veins varing from gold to deep brown. The surface is excellent and has a clear barrel imprint, the gold filling on the cap stud, clip, cap band, and filler lever are in good condition. Please study the photos for best description of the product and condition. I used different light table brightness for some pictures and you can see the "Pearl Green Marble" reflects more and looks brighter in certain light. Overall, a very nice color. The wood pen display stand and brass roller are not included. You would be purchasing only the fountain pen. There is no original packaging or paperwork. The fountain pen would be placed in a velvet pen sleeve and pen box for shipping. A Very Nice Vintage Conway Stewart ... Excellent Condition for a vintage 1950's fountain pen. This pen fills well and the 14K gold nib writes with a medium line and a small but pleasing amount of flex. The line variation would allow someone with a decent 'hand' to produce impressive results.
