Description: This is a really gorgeous Native American beaded purse. It is dated sometime around the 1950s with brain tanned leather and European glass beads. Design thought to be from the Crow Tribe. Bag is sewn onto a 100 year old brass clasp with cowrie shells and antique hawk bells. Clap has a Made In France stamp that should be visible from the photos. Fringe bottom with basket beads. CLASP IS BROKEN ON ONE SIDE SO THIS IS NOT A FUNCTIONAL BAG. This is a really beautiful piece of history that should be preserved. I did take this bag to multiple people familiar with Native American art including Antique Roadshow which I’ve included their appraisal. Bag is in decent vintage condition. There is some green coloring on ties by the clasp which is probably from being in touch with the brass clasp. The clap is broken and there are some stains and spots on the bag including on the leather. I will be requiring signature confirmation with delivery. As mentioned, this is a really gorgeous piece and important part of our history. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like any additional photos. $.50 from every sale goes to our local food bank. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this. Thanks :)
