Description: Very beautiful vintage bisque wall relief plaque featuring the Virgin Mary. The teardrop shape and details of the figurine, from eyelashes to creases in her robe, are gorgeous. Mary is a natural matte white bisque and brushed with a metallic gold paint, which highlights the details, such as her rosary, and give her a golden aura or glow. The gold catches in the light. The background has a mid century modern organic texture. Overall, it is a very serene, yet cool, piece. It is in great vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is minor wear to the gold paint in areas along edges. See photos for details! There are two holes at top to thread a rope or wire for easy hanging and wall display. While Napco is a vintage Japanese brand, I’m not sure if this piece was made in Japan or the USA as the back is stamped “Bedford, Ohio” along with a product ID and the year “1961”.
