Description: This print /original appears to be an early work of Karen Jacobsen, Pacific Northwest artist and a University of California Santa Cruz art graduate. I have listed this as a print - it may be an original, I just can't tell for sure. Karen Jacobsen is a practicing artist who currently lives and works in Idaho. The print features a clump of entwined, delicate lily-like flowers - I think they are "grass lilies" , but this is another thing I don't know for sure. At any rate, they are beautiful and the colors are wonderful - very pale lavender-pink with winding foliage in varying shades of green. The signature "Karen L. Jacobsen" is located prominently in the lower right corner of the picture.This wonderful piece was part of an estate. It has been beautifully custom framed with an outer sage green mat, inset with a pink mat border (see photos for detail). It is framed with a gold metal frame that has a brushed texture along the edges and is flat on the surface - very much in style now. The glass is high quality glare-resistant. There is a label on the back of the picture from "Midland Park Art Shop", the shop that originally framed this print. It measures about 24 1/4 inches tall and is 13 1/4 inches wide (framed), a nice medium size in a portrait orientation that will work well in many spaces.The print is in very good condition - no spots, holes or tears. The matting is in great condition with no spots, holes, cracks or tears. The frame has some scratches and scuffing, consistent with age, but is also in reasonably good condition (see photos of frame). There is some very light age-related discoloration along the edges of the mat - hard to see in photos and not very noticeable, but full disclosure. The mounting board on the back of the piece has some dings, scuffs and tears, but this does not effect the picture. The glass is in very good condition - no chips or cracks. The hanging bracket and wire are secure and sturdy.
