Description: This rare and fine vintage Christmas card is from the Irene Dash lithography line and features Santa with children from the beloved American artist Tasha Tudor. The children are climbing allover St. Nick, and he clearly does not mind. One has on his hat and others have peppermint sticks. This card is laid art on high-ragg paper. The art has a light brown spot (see photos) and the soft background paper has been susceptible to bending, but this is largely in the margins. Natural paper right edge. Imprinted signature. This card measures about 7 x 6”. This is a vintage used card, suitable for the advanced collector. Tasha Tudor (1915 –2008) was a noted illustrator and writer of children's books, well known for her back-to-the-farm sensibilities, love of New England, and use of her Corgis in her art. She illustrated nearly one hundred books, including Corgiville Christmas and a Christmas themed book, Take Joy. Tudor received many awards and honors, including Caldecott Honors and the Regina Medal for contributions to children's literature.[8] Her books feature detailed and realistic drawings with soft colors, often bordered by intricate details such as flowers, birds or other charming objects and animals. Her books are highly valued possessions of an appreciative audience—one that has grown since she was first represented in the 1940s. She also created thousands of original works of art which appear on Christmas cards, Advent calendars, and in other forms. Her original art is found in museums, libraries and hundreds of private collections around the world.
