Vintage Fenton Blue Ridge Student Lamp Spiral Optic Opalescent Cobalt Crest

Description: For anyone who loves Fenton's BLUE RIDGE this vintage student lamp is a must have to any collector. The spiral optic pattern and opalescent glass make it a standout piece. The lamp is corded electric and uses a standard base bulb. It weighs 4 lbs 2 oz and measures 19.5" to the top of the hurricane shade. The ruffled round shade with cobalt crest adds to the overall aesthetic. The metal base is 6" dia and the glass shade is 8" dia. This lamp is perfect for any lover Fenton's Blue Ridge Collection. I might add that I have not found this lamp in Blue Ridge anywhere on the internet nor in the many Fenton reference books that I have. It was purchased around 1985 when Fenton made the Blue Ridge 80th Anniversary Collection. It's possible that it was a Fenton Gift Shop item meaning only one or a few were made and it was not part of the regular catalog offering. I do not know either way for certain but I cannot find another one like it nor images/information in print or on the internet. Notes regarding Condition: (last 4 pictures in the set above show these conditions)1. The metal base has an area <.5" wide with metal age with a few round breaks in the metal with one tiny pinhead sized bit of corrosion.2. Glass shade: an area in the shade close to mold line with marks of about 1/2" - 5/8" in overall.3. Glass shade: a thin line very close to the opposite mold line about 1/4" -3/8" long.4. Glass shade: two tiny air bubbles exist in the glass. Zoom picture to see both. Neither 2. nor 3. can be seen if you are any distance away but yet they are there. They do not capture your attention unless the light bulb is on and you happen to be on that side and very close. Each are on opposite sides near the mold line (2 piece mold). They are slightly pinkish looking to me and can be felt on the surface with your fingernail; cannot be removed with acetone so may have been there when shipped from Fenton, but I cannot say for sure. It is my opinion that this occurred during manufacture because of the proximity to the mold seams, similar in nature, and same slightly pinkish color but, of course, this cannot be determined now. All of the above are shown in the last 4 pictures above photographed as well as possible. Pls msg me if any further questions I can answer for you. I pack with GREAT CARE and probably overdo it a bit.
