Description: This watch is UNTESTED The Britix Watch Company was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1928. By 1945, the company had opened offices in the USA. In 1948, the company was taken over by Jaquet & Girard SA of Biel in Switzerland. The lens has a couple of fairly minor marks but nothing too serious. The dial is signed Bancor, a name registered by Shifter & Boriser of New York in 1944. We have seen several examples of Bancor / Britix collaborations over the years. It would appear that Shifter & Boriser imported the Britix watch, labelled it with their own brand name of Bancor for onward retail. This would fall in line with their 1940s expansion into the US. The dial is in its original finish with two sub dials, one for constant seconds and the other to record up to 30 minutes. Red chronograph hand started by pressing the top button to the side of the watch, and the bottom button to stop and then again to re-set to zero (the hand actually re-sets a fraction to the left of zero). Unless described differently, the posted pictures are NOT stock images and are NOT a copy from another listing. The posted video and/or pictures are of exactly what you will be receiving, no more, no less. The images are the best source of description. I typically do not clean antique or vintage items in an attempt to preserve them for the buyer. Thank you for your interest in Thrift Hoarder!
