Description: Rollins is an unincorporated community and CDP in Lake County, Montana. The community began in the 1880s as Bay View and was renamed when the post office opened in 1904. The town is just north of the Flathead Indian Reservation on the west shore of Flathead Lake. The reservation is home to the “Bitterroot Salish, Kootenia, and Pend d’Oreilles Tribes, also known as the “Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation”. The reservation was created through the 1855 “treaty of Hellgate. It has land in four of Montana’s counties: Lake, Sanders, Missouola, and Flathead, controls most of Flathead Lake, and consists of 1,938 sq. miles of forested mountains and valleys. This is a card that chronicles “In the Land of Promise, Rollins Mont. Near Flathead Indian Reservation”. It is in good condition with minor wear and a clean, clear image. The reverse has some damage with some staining. The colors on the card may vary due to the scanner settings and screen projections.Unless otherwise noted, I use Wikipedia, Playle's and Metropostcard for research and try to be as accurate as possible.
