(WWII which ended in April, 1945) In this case the manufacturers explain that "Lastex" is going into the war effort. Therefore these coasters are 100% mercerized terri-knit (a textile treatment that improves the properties of fabrics like cotton and flax) and are just as durable and absorbent. Read the last paragraph regarding restoring their shape after use. Of course the coasters can be used for their intended purpose or used as a PROP for TV or MOVIE production.
