Richly told, populated with fascinating characters, perfectly realized in detail of world and pacing of plot, and profoundly allegorical, the story is infused throughout with the timeless issues of good and evil, faith and hope. Up for auction is a vintage set of all seven books in "The Chronicles of Narnia". This scarce vintage set is in overall FINE condition. Most of these books appear to never have been read! They are all from the same collection and all have a similar gift inscription. These books date from the 1970s/1980s. These are Macmillan Editions, with the colorful cover artwork of Roger Hane, and the classic illustrations of Pauline Baynes inside. These books are all book club editions with their original dust jackets, except for "Magician's Nephew" which has a reproduction DJ that cuts off on the inside flaps due to paper size limitations The titles are: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE PRINCE CASPIAN THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER THE SILVER CHAIR THE HORSE AND HIS BOY THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW (reproduction DJ, spotting to text block) and THE LAST BATTLE All books are free from writing and are in excellent condition.
