Description: For sale is this vintage wood handled meat cleaver, with a overall length of 17", weighing 2lbs. 5.9 oz., with a 8-5/16" long X 1/4" thick blade, measuring from 3-1/2" wide at its narrowest point to 4-5/8" wide at its widest point. Signed "Wm Beatty & Son Chester Pa.", the steel is in very good overall condition, showing heavy use and wear at the top of the blade, with a good edge which will respond well to honing and sharpening by a experienced hand. The wooden handle has a crack on one side, and another very long and deep crack, stabilized by its steel ferrule. Any handle repair/replacement, honing, sharpening, cleaning and detailing is left up to you.
